My son had speech difficulties from a young age, which included not being able to sound the first letters of words, lacked speech clarity, with a resulting impact on his confidence and overall development. Penny Anne worked with our Son from the age of 5 years old once a week for over three years and achieved the most dramatic and life changing results. If you need a coach who understands both the clinical and creative side of the voice, Penny-Anne is it. I worked with her during Fat Ham at the RSC while navigating a history of vocal pathology and the challenge of unamplified performance. She was incredible at combining speech therapy with acting and singing technique to help me meet the intense demands of an eight-show week.
Penny-Anne truly understands the holistic nature of the voice. I would often go into our sessions feeling physically tense and sounding rough, but I would leave with my larynx free and breathing deeply. She was with me all the way from previews to closing night, alleviating my stress and allowing me to focus entirely on the performance.
Beyond the physical relief of vocal manipulation and massage, she gave me technical tools I could actually implement mid-show. Her genuine passion for theatre and the voice is felt in everything she does, and she went above and beyond—even attending and noting the show—to ensure my instrument was protected for the long term. She is an invaluable asset to any professional performer—a total gem.

I had the pleasure of working with Penny-Anne after a heavy performance schedule, combined with illness, left me experiencing vocal problems. After months of struggling through, within just a few sessions of work with Penny-Anne the results were remarkable. Focusing on breath work and release, using simple yet highly effective and targeted exercises, she was able to get me back on track. Her laryngeal manipulation - a gentle, hands-on procedure that I had never experienced before, but cannot recommend enough - was key to reducing the muscle tension in my larynx, throat and neck.
